The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will present a report listing members involved in anti-party activities during the 2023 elections to the National Executive Committee (NEC) on Thursday, April 18.

An anonymous NWC member confirmed that the report will serve as a basis for disciplinary action. The Disciplinary Committee will review the report and recommend appropriate sanctions based on the severity of each individual’s involvement.

Damagum’s Position Under Scrutiny

Another key issue to be discussed at the NEC meeting is the future of acting National Chairman Umar Damagum. The NWC has decided to defer a decision on his permanent appointment due to an ongoing court case. Once the case is resolved, the matter will be referred back to the North Central zone for recommendations.

Anti-Party Activities Investigation

The PDP leadership had previously directed state chapter chairmen to identify members engaged in anti-party activities. Ex-Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike and the G5 Governors, who openly opposed party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, are reportedly on the list to be submitted to the NEC.

NEC Agenda

In addition to the anti-party report and Damagum’s position, the NEC will also discuss:

1. State congresses and ratification of NWC decisions
