Thousands of Nigerian youths, led by the PDP Reform Vanguard, stormed the PDP headquarters in Abuja this morning. They demanded the immediate resignation of Acting National Chairman Ambassador Iliya Damagun and called for sanctions against FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for alleged anti-party activities.

Usman Seidu, Convener of the PDP Reform Vanguard, accused Damagun and Wike of “undermining our collective efforts and jeopardizing our existence as a formidable opposition.”

“We commend former National Chairman Dr. Iyorchia Ayu for withdrawing pending lawsuits against the party,” Seidu said. “His actions have paved the way for our party to move forward, but the presence of Damagun and Wike remains a threat.”

The group called for Damagun’s removal and his replacement with a loyal member from the North Central. They also urged the National Economic Council (NEC) to act against Wike, whose appointment as Minister of the FCT was seen as a reward for his alleged ties to the ruling APC.

“The continuous presence of Damagun and Wike is detrimental to our progress and a danger to the party’s survival,” Seidu warned. “If the NEC fails to take decisive action, we risk losing the support of loyal members nationwide.”

The group implored NEC members to take the necessary steps to reposition the PDP for success.
