Exclusive court documents obtained by THE WHISTLER allege a web of corrupt activities involving former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and his family members.

Charges:

Eight-count charges have been filed against Ganduje, his wife Hafsat Umar, their son Umar Abdullahi Umar, and four others.

First Charge:

Ganduje is accused of corruptly requesting and receiving $200,000 from a government contract beneficiary while serving as governor between 2015 and 2023.

Second Charge:

He is also charged with receiving a $213,000 kickback from a contractor involved in the remodeling of the Kantin Kwari textile market.

Third and Fourth Charges:

Ganduje and others are accused of criminal conspiracy and breach of trust involving N1.376 billion earmarked for medical equipment purchases during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fifth and Sixth Charges:

Ganduje and his son are accused of illegally allocating 501 state-owned land plots to a family-owned company, with proceeds totaling N700 million allegedly diverted for their benefit.

Witnesses:

The Kano State Government plans to call 15 witnesses, including:

1. A forensic expert to authenticate a video showing Ganduje allegedly accepting bribes

2. Multiple contractors who were allegedly forced to pay Ganduje a percentage of contract funds

3. A Department of State Services (DSS) officer who was present during the alleged bribery video

4. Police and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officers who investigated the case. CONTINUE READING
