The Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) has denied rumors of Bobrisky’s transfer from Ikoyi Correctional Facility to Kirikiri Prison. An anonymous NCoS official confirmed that the cross-dresser remains in Ikoyi.

The official explained that Bobrisky’s offense does not qualify him for transfer to a maximum prison, where inmates facing life or death sentences are housed. Another NCoS source indicated that inmate transfers are still in the planning stages and would prioritize those serving sentences of less than a year, such as Bobrisky.

According to an official source, Bobrisky is housed with male inmates and underwent an examination that did not reveal any gender or genital reassignment. He has been compliant with prison regulations.

Bobrisky was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on April 3, 2024, for spraying new naira notes at an event. He was convicted on April 5, 2024, on charges of naira abuse. Despite pleading ignorance of the law, Bobrisky has vowed to raise awareness about the issue.

Calls and messages to the spokesperson for the Lagos State Command of the NCoS, Rotimi Oladokun, remained unanswered at the time of writing. CONTINUE READING
