The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCCAC) has alleged that former Kano Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, who is now the national chairman of the APC, embezzled approximately N51.3 billion.
PCCAC Chairman Muhuyi Magaji disclosed the findings in an interview with Arise Television, according to the Daily Post. Magaji stated that the funds were diverted into various local government accounts.
Magaji claimed that the Ganduje administration “conspired with local government officials to create false expenditure with payment vouchers and then diverted the money.”
“We have traced over N51.3 billion based on confessional statements and diversion methods. We are tracking a total amount exceeding N100 billion,” Magaji said.
He added that 200 individuals have confessed to the commission about receiving money from Ganduje. The former governor is facing charges based on evidence gathered by the panel.
Magaji also alleged the sale of a Kano State government-owned company to a family business, in which Ganduje’s wife is a secretary.
Governor Abba Yusuf’s administration has recently filed charges against Ganduje for allegedly embezzling Kano State funds. CONTINUE READING
