As the race for Edo State’s governorship election intensifies, PDP candidate Dr. Asue Ighodalo has appealed to political opponents to prioritize issue-based campaigns. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the commencement of public campaigns from April 24th.

Ighodalo, facing 16 other candidates, has pledged to adhere to the electoral guidelines and focus on substantive matters. “Edolities seek solutions to pressing issues such as insecurity, poverty, and infrastructure,” he said.

“Let us avoid character assassination and unfounded allegations,” Ighodalo implored. “We should present our manifestos and persuade voters on our merits. By focusing on issues, we create a conducive atmosphere and minimize the risk of electoral violence.”

“We are all Edo citizens, united by our desire for our state’s progress,” he concluded. “Let us conduct our campaigns with civility and decorum.” CONTINUE READING
