Spotnana has developed a direct integration with Copa Airlines’ new distribution capability API, bringing the carrier’s exclusive sales promotions, ancillary products and other agency content to the Spotnana platform, the companies announced.

The integration includes access to Copa’s PriceLock product, which lets travelers hold reservations for up to seven days, and self-service cancellations, refunds and exchanges, according to Spotnana. It also enables travel bookers to bypass Copa’s surcharge on EDIFACT reservations, which it introduced in September 2022 and this month increased to $24 per direction of a trip.

Spotnana said it was able to integrate with Copa’s NDC API in a single day. “We are experiencing rapidly growing demand from our largest global customers for NDC content in Latin America and are very excited to work with Copa Airlines as a key partner to address this need,” Spotnana founder and CEO Sarosh Waghmar said in a statement.

Copa launched its Copa Connect distribution program — which provides NDC content to agencies via API, a web-based booking platform and a connection to technology companies that are connected to its API — in September 2022, and it currently accounts for more than half of agency tickets issued on Copa, according to Dennis Cary, the carrier’s chief commercial officer.
