A meeting between Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and aggrieved aspirants from the Ondo State primary election held on Thursday but failed to resolve the dispute.

Despite appeals from Ganduje for party unity and withdrawal of petitions, none of the aggrieved aspirants agreed to drop their challenges.

The meeting, attended by 14 out of 15 aspirants, including Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who emerged victorious from the April 20-21 primary, aimed to address the discord ahead of the November 16 governorship election.

Aspirants such as Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, Olusola Oke, and Wale Akintetirinwa declined to participate in a photo session after the meeting.

The APC’s deputy national publicity secretary, Duru Meseko, announced that the party would continue engaging with the aspirants to find a resolution. CONTINUE READING
