Daily Trust reports that Ola Olukoyede, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has declared his commitment to overseeing the conclusion of the investigation into Yahaya Bello. He stated, “If I fail to personally oversee the completion of this investigation, I will resign as EFCC Chairman.”
Olukoyede highlighted his previous successful prosecution of former governors Willie Obiano and Abdulfatah Ahmed, who have both been granted bail. He emphasized that the delay in pursuing Bello’s case was due to the need for a court order.
“Having successfully prosecuted Obiano, Ahmed, and my kinsman, Chief Olu Agunloye, I see no reason why we should not hold Yahaya Bello accountable,” Olukoyede concluded. CONTINUE READING
