Arsenal are top of the Premier League table with a point separating them from second-placed Manchester City, who have two games in hand.

The Gunners should be feeling confident as they have the best attack in the league with a whopping 82 goals in 34 matches.

The North Londoners are also counting a staggering 24 victories, which is their joint all-time highest number.

Mikel Arteta’s men have kept a league-high 16 clean sheets this season and could become only the third team to record seven successive away Prem shutouts after Chelsea and Manchester United.

Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League table with three games in hand and only seven points separating them from fourth-placed Aston Villa.

However, Spurs will have to do better today as they have failed to win three of their last four league home games – losing twice along the way – following a run of five successive victories at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, the North Londoners have scored in 25 successive Premier League home matches – their third longest run in the English top flight – but they have conceded 49 goals this season and could let in 50 or more in back-to-back campaigns for the first time since the 2014-2015 term.

The hosts have gone 12 Prem home games without a clean sheet, which is their longest run since 2003.

In fact, Ange Postecoglou’s men have kept just two clean sheets at home in the Prem – only relegation strugglers Burnley and Sheffield United have fewer.

Tottenham have won just one of the past six Premier League meetings against Arsenal but today’s hosts have lost just two of their last 15 top-flight home fixtures against their rivals.

The visitors are facing the prospect of winning consecutive league games away at Spurs for the first time since 1988.

This is a big one, today’s match will determine a lot as Arsenal are chasing their first title since 2004 while Tottenham are after a top-four finish knowing that fifth place will almost certainly not lead to Champions League qualification.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has been dealt a major injury boost as Richarlison returns to action after overcoming a knee injury.

Pedro Porro will also be available but Postecoglou also suffered a major blow as his other full-back Destiny Udogie has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing thigh surgery.

Udogie suffered his injury during training as did Oliver Skipp but it seems like the “small knock” the latter picked up may only keep him out for the weekend.

Manor Solomon (meniscus), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) and Fraser Forster (ankle) are also unavailable.

The Gunners’ boss Mikel Arteta, on the other hand, has no fresh injury concerns heading to this crucial encounter.

Even Jurrien Timber, who has been absent since the start of the season after a serious knee injury, is close to getting involved, according to Arteta.
