A group known as the “Tiv Youth Patriotic Front” (TYPF) has slammed Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia for attributing his administration’s failures to previous administrations.

Governor Alia, upon returning from the United States, warned his predecessors against interfering in his government. He urged them to “shut up” if they had nothing constructive to contribute.

However, in a statement signed by its president, Yoosu Daniel, the TYPF accused Alia of “running the state like a parish house” and blaming his predecessors for his own shortcomings.

The group questioned how Alia could accuse his predecessors of interference while he had “frozen the state’s accounts, paralyzing day-to-day government operations.”

The TYPF further noted that the governor had “created a rift between himself and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC),” due to his actions and inactions.

“How then does he find it convenient to accuse his predecessors of interference?” the statement concluded.
