Rivers State Governor, Sir Sim Fubara, has refuted a claim made by former Commissioner for Works and Director General of the Border Communities Development Agency, George-Kelly Alabo.

Addressing the inauguration of the new Attorney General, Fubara stated that had he remained a civil servant before his retirement, he would have advanced beyond Level 14. This contradicts comments attributed to Alabo, who had suggested otherwise.

He said he was already on Level 13 as a Chief Account Officer before 2023. According to him, even if it was a mistake, by the special grace of God he is here as a Governor.

George kelly was captured in a live interview saying “Gov Fubara would have been a level 14 Civil Servant today, if not for Wike that picked him up, made him a DFA, a permanent secretary, Accountant General and then the Governor of Rivers state”.
