An unknown assailant stabbed Mr. Abdul-azeez Abdullahi, a non-teaching staff member of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, during an examination held at the institution’s Red Block Hall on Friday.

The incident, according to a reliable source who spoke with Osun Defender on condition of anonymity, happened around 3:00 pm on Friday.

Pictures obtained by Osun Defender showed the victim who was among the invigilators in the hall was deeply stabbed by fhs hoodlum.

The source said the man walked into the hall after the students had been cleared for the afternoon paper, and began to constitute a nuisance and disrupting examination.

The source further noted that “The disruptive and offensive behaviour of the unknown man got unbearable and eventually prompted an invigilator, Mr Abdul-azeez Abdullahi to confront him to leave the hall, and this led to altercation between the duo and the unknown man broke one of the window louvres and stab the invigilator, Mr Abdul-azeez in different parts of his body, which include his back, hand and head.

“After he stabbed the invigilator, he made his way out of the hall and escaped. Thereafter, Mr Abdul-azeez Abdullahi was given a first aid treatment at OSPOLY medical center, before he was taken to Ore Ofe hospital, in Iree, Osun State.”- the anonymous source added.

Confirming the incident, the Dean Of Students’ Affairs of the institution, Dr Tope Abiola, said the culprit is not a student of the institution.

According to him, “The culprit is not our student. we are aware of the incident and we are collaborating with the Police to ensure that the culprit is identified and arrested.     This is too much but they should be allowing students to feel free in exam hall most of this invigilators are fond of making exams and aftermath hard for students
