Wike stated this stance during a final inspection tour of projects slated for inauguration in the nation’s capital on Friday.

The former Governor of Rivers State acknowledged the longstanding discord with his successor, Governor Siminalyi Fubara, which escalated in October 2023 when impeachment proceedings were initiated against Fubara by some state lawmakers.

Addressing attendees at a civic reception in Ogu-Bolo, Rivers State, last Saturday, Wike candidly admitted to past errors without specifying their nature, asserting, “I want to say this clearly, in life, we have made a mistake. I have made a mistake. I own it up, and I say God forgive me. I have said all of you forgive me. But we will correct it at the appropriate time.”

However, during discussions with journalists amid the inspection tour in Abuja, Wike reaffirmed his focus on delivering results, citing the completion of several projects earmarked for inauguration.
