Uuncapped Red Bull Salzburg central defender Bryan Okoh who has made only two senior appearances for the first team of the Austrian giants was part of the surprise names on the list.

Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji and AC Milan forward Noah Okafor, who at some point were expected to play for Nigeria but opted to change allegiance and represent their adopted nations, are among the 38 players picked by Yakin.
