Elle Fanning is in talks to star in the upcoming film Badlands, which is the next standalone Predator movie coming from Prey director Dan Trachtenberg.

Trachtenberg is directing from a script he co-wrote with Patrick Aison. There are no details regarding the story, but we do know that it is not a sequel to Prey. That sequel is still in the works and the film’s star Amber Midthunder is expected to return.

Another thing we know is that Badlands will revolve around a menacing Predator who is on the hunt. We just don’t know the time period or setting. Like the rest of you, I’m curious to find out more details regarding the story for this movie.

The new film is also believed to get a theatrical release, unlike Prey, which went straight to Hulu.
