Pixies have shared the new song “You’re So Impatient” and a cover of Jay Livingston and Ray Evans’ “Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be).” They’re the first tracks with new bassist Emma Richardson. Listen to the songs below.

In a press statement, Pixies frontman Black Francis said, “‘You’re So Impatient’ is a slightly comedic suburban culture moment: There’s this guy; there’s this gal; there’s this tug-of-love dynamic going on. But the backdrop is the mall. And while the mall is crass, it’s also a very zombie, rock’n’roll horror movie setting.”

In March, Pixies announced that Richardson joined the band after the departure of Paz Lenchantin. Richardson is a painter who spent over a decade with Band of Skulls, and she’s been playing on tour with Pixies for the past few months.

Paz Lenchantin joined Pixies as a touring bassist in 2014 after the departures of Kim Deal and Kim Shattuck. She contributed a bit to Indie Cindy, before becoming a full-time band member in 2016 and working on Head Carrier, Beneath the Eyrie, and Doggerel.
