PAUL GASCOIGNE has revealed Sir Alex Ferguson did not speak to him for SIX YEARS after he rejected a move to Manchester United.
The England legend, 57, became a household name with his performances for Newcastle between 1985 and 1988.
He then had the opportunity to sign for Man Utd but chose to join Tottenham instead.
This led to a lengthy stint where Fergie refused to talk to the midfielder.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Gascoigne recalls: “I think it took him six years to speak to us again.”
Gazza was then linked with Man Utd for a second time when he was leaving Lazio in 1995.
He claims Fergie said he would sign him if Eric Cantona left, but the Frenchman ended up staying and Gazza moved to Rangers.
Gascoigne also revealed a more recent run-in with Ferguson when he attended a game at Old Trafford.
And he admits it still resulted in a dressing down from the iconic Scottish coach.
He explained: “A couple of years ago I went to watch Man Utd play – I think it was Chelsea – and he [Fergie] was in the lounge. A guy come up and said ‘Sir Alex Ferguson wants to see you in the office’. I just started panicking.
