Brighton are in talks with 31-year-old Fabian Hurzeler to potentially become the Premier League’s youngest manager, Gistreel understands.
Hurzeler, currently managing German side St. Pauli, has emerged as the top candidate to replace Roberto De Zerbi.
The American-born coach has garnered significant attention in Germany, especially after guiding St. Pauli to the Bundesliga after a 13-year absence.
His managerial journey began at German amateur side FC Pipinsried, followed by a stint as an assistant manager for Germany’s Under-18 and Under-20 teams.
Despite initially considering a return for Graham Potter, Brighton are now said to have reached a conclusion to look elsewhere.
Kieran McKenna was also in contention before renewing his contract with Ipswich.
Hurzeler’s immediate impact at St. Pauli saw the team win their first ten matches under his leadership, and eventually securing the Bundesliga 2 title.
