Mr. Jibril Usman-Umar, a fellow law student and course mate of the deceased, confirmed the incident to Daily Trust on Saturday. He reported that Jazuli was brutally attacked and killed on Friday night in the Angwan Mada area, a village near Akwanga.

“The victim was attacked, brutally, and butchered to death on Friday night by unknown persons,” Usman-Umar stated, adding that Jazuli served as the Chief Judge of the NSUK-LAW Court until his untimely death.

DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Nasarawa State Command, provided details of the incident, noting that the command received information about the attack around 5 p.m. on Friday.

“The judge (Jazuli), after close of work, boarded a commercial motorcycle from Rinze to Rinze junction. On reaching Risha village, he was attacked by three unidentified men armed with cutlasses, sticks, and a gun. He was beaten and macheted,” DSP Nansel explained.

Police operatives from the Gudi Division responded swiftly to the scene and transported Jazuli to the General Hospital Akwanga, where he was pronounced dead. His body was subsequently deposited at the hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The Commissioner of Police has initiated a comprehensive investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous crime. He expressed condolences to Jazuli’s family, assuring them that justice will be served and praying for divine comfort during this difficult time.
