If you live near the Nashville area and you are looking for some outdoor fun in the sun, Nashville Shores is just the place. It is located on Percy Priest Lake in Hermitage, Tennessee, and it is a popular destination for families and groups looking for a fun day out or a weekend getaway. It is a lakeside resort that features lakefront and hillside cabins, RV sites, Treetop Adventure Park (Nashville’s #1 zip line and ropes course), a water park, pontoon and jet ski rentals, marina, and more. There’s truly something fun for guests of all ages! The Nashville Shores Waterpark is the part my kids and I have used the most over the years. Therefore, this feature will focus on the Nashville waterpark but I will also provide a few details on the other attractions and amenities that Nashville Shores Lakeside Resort offers.

I recently took my teenagers to Nashville Shores Water Park. We had a great time and I made a short IG Reel if you want a peek at what it is like. The Nashville Shores Water Park is a major draw for families and includes:

Water Slides

There are multiple high-speed and twisting water slides. From steep drops to twists and turns, there are 10 exciting slides.

You can enjoy everything the Tennesse Twisters body slides where you glide down four stories of winding tubes and plunge into a cool splash pool below.

My favorite is the Mega Mayhem. You climb up to the 6-story platform and you get a multi-person raft that seats up to five. Then you go swishing down the tunnel which opens up to a tornado funnel, “where you swing between zero-gravity moments and dizzying drops. The raft then picks up speed down a 45-degree angle which then thrusts riders up and across the massive 40-foot high, near-vertical wall before sweeping into a narrow-enclosed slide and into the splash pool.” We made lots of thrilling screams to accompany the huge sifts in motion and the whole Mega Mayhem experience is so much fun!

Our other family favorite was the Big Kahuna Family Raft Slide. It starts from a 57-foot platform. The Big Kahuna Slide shoots the raft down through a dark tunnel with lots of curves and drops. Very fun!

Lazy River

The Castaway Creek Lazy River is more than 1,000 foot long. It is the widest lazy river in the state – an impressive 17 feet wide. It features some fun waterfalls along the sides if you enjoy a splash. A relaxing float along a winding river, perfect for leisurely enjoyment.

Wave Pool

A large pool that simulates ocean waves, offering fun for swimmers of all ages. The Wave Pool encompasses more than 25,000 square feet. It is capable of producing five different wave patterns creating rolling waves up to four feet. There is also a huge movie screen up so they can play music videos, movies, or even show the Olympics on the day we were there!

Barefootin’ Bay and the Wacky Pond Little Kids’ Play Area:

The Barefootin’ Bay is adedicated section with smaller slides and water features suitable for younger children. This colorful water play structure has more than 35 interactive water features, mini-slides, and a tipping bucket to drench guests below. Or they can cool off in the kiddie pool!

Aqua Park

This inflatable, on-the-water obstacle course provides a unique challenge. The Aqua Park is an interactive playground floating on Percy Priest Lake itself! It features 40 colorful, interconnected water elements including monkey bars, action towers, wiggle bridges, hurdles, and more. You do have to wear a life vest to go out and enjoy this unique lake feature of the water park.

Nashville Shores Water Park Pros And Cons

Pros:

1. Variety of Attractions: The water park features a range of attractions including water slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, and a play area for younger children.
2. Family-Friendly: Very family-friendly with plenty of activities for children of all ages.
3. Cleanliness: The park is generally well-maintained and clean, which is a big plus for visitors.

Cons:

1. Crowds: During peak season, the park can get quite crowded, which can lead to longer wait times for attractions. But mostly that is not a big problem and I am usually quite happy that the wait times are not too extended.
2. Pricing: The admission prices aren’t cheap and parking is extra. However, buying a season’s pass is a great way to go which reduces the price per visit to a great rate. Or sometimes they have coupons available in those coupon books you buy from schools.

Food Options

Various on-site dining options, including snack bars and casual eateries offering a range of food and beverages. You can find Slushies, Dippin’ Dots, Funnel Cakes, cheeseburger baskets, chicken finger baskets, pizza, and more.

Is Nashville Shores Waterpark Open?

• Season: Typically operates from late spring through early fall. The waterpark season is roughly the same each year. It opens the second Saturday in May. Then, it is open weekends only until the Thursday before Memorial Day. It is open daily until the first week of August when local school systems go back. Then, it is open weekends until the second Saturday in September.

Conclusion
