Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), alongside party officials, has donated ₦50 million to support flood victims in Borno State. Obi, accompanied by key figures such as the LP Caretaker Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, and the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, visited Borno Governor Babagana Zulum to show solidarity with the victims of the devastating floods.
In a statement on his X handle, Obi said: “We visited the state Governor, Babagana Zulum, His Highness the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garba Al Amin El-Kanemi, and the good people of Borno following the recent flooding which claimed lives and destroyed properties.”
During the visit, the team also went to the Bank of the North spare parts market, an IDP camp, and met a woman who tragically lost her newborn twins to the flood.
