A recent study of the most popular drinking songs reveals that AC/DC are the No. 1 artist as far as rock music is concerned. The legendary band has three of the top five rock songs on the list.
Whiskey retailer Flask & Barrel analyzed 23,425 Spotify playlists that made reference to drinking or partying in their titles, and broke down the results by genre.
According to the results, hip-hop is the most popular genre when it comes to drinking, with Usher’s “Yeah!” (featuring Lil Jon & Ludacris) the No. 1 song overall. Classic rock followed as the second most popular style of music for drinkers.
As far as the rock tunes are concerned, AC/DC claim the No. 1 (“Thunderstruck”), No. 2 (“Highway to Hell”) and No. 4 (“Back in Black”) songs, with Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” and The Eagles’ “Hotel California” landing in the No. 3 and No. 5 spots, respectively.
