Remember when Al Pacino welcomed a new baby with his girlfriend, Noor Alfallah, last year? Well, the two are no longer romantically linked (or might not have been in the first place?), and reports have revealed that Alfallah may be seeing someone new: Bill Maher.

After photos surfaced showing Alfallah seemingly on dates with Maher, Pacino, 84, confirmed that he is no longer involved with the 30-year-old film producer, telling People in a new interview: “No. I have friendship.”

It’s not exactly clear whether Pacino and Alfallah have always been in a “friendship” or if that’s a more recent arrangement, but the couple have reportedly worked out the custody arrangement for their 1-year-old son, Roman, and remain active in each other’s lives.

Getting a solid read on the dynamics of the their relationship has been tricky since it first went public in 2022, with the most concrete evidence of its possibly romantic aspects — other than their parenting a child together — being Alfallah’s comments to Vogue Arabia that it began as a friendship and “became something more.” Now though, a rep for Pacino has affirmed his apparent clarification, saying, “Al and Noor are very good friends, have been for years, and are co-parents to their son Roman.”

Meanwhile, Alfallah has been seen on several outings with Maher. On October 5th, after they were spotted leaving Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont together, one insider source told People that they’re “friends,” but another claimed that the two have been on “several dates” but “it’s still early days.”

As for Pacino, he told People, “I have friends all over the place. I must say I’m very lucky with that.”

Earlier this week, Alfallah made a post on Instagram featuring a selfie with her, Pacino, and collaborators on her recent movie, The Apprentice, as well as a clip of Maher speaking about the film on his show, Real Time with Bill Maher. Last month, a clip was shared of Pacino helping her blow out the candles at her birthday party.

In other Pacino news, the Scarface actor’s new memoir, Sonny Boy, arrived this week, and includes a claim that, despite his iconic role as Tony Montana, he’s never done cocaine in his life.
