Alaska Airlines flyers can now book Starlux flights directly with the carrier, as well as earn and use Mileage Plan miles for flights.

Alaska Airlines flyers now have one more partner for trans-Pacific flights from their headquarters in Seattle.

Alaska partner Starlux Airlines launched their inaugural service from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) in Taiwan on Friday, August 16, 2024, adding three additional flights per week to the airline’s extended network.

Starlux Flights Now Bookable on Alaska Website, Codeshare Coming Soon

Under the partnership, Starlux will fly the route between Seattle and Taipei three times per week, complementing the existing service flying from Los Angeles and San Francisco. Starlux flights from all three Alaska hubs are now bookable on Alaska’s website.

In addition to making it easier to book trans-Pacific flights through Alaska, the airlines are extending some loyalty benefits for Mileage Plan flyers. Travelers can choose to earn Mileage Plan miles when booking through the Alaska website or use their miles for award travel aboard Starlux. The airlines are also planning to launch a codeshare for Starlux flights, allowing for seamless travel from one carrier to another.

The new Starlux flights will be operated aboard the airline’s Airbus A350 aircraft, featuring four cabins. Flyers can choose between four first class seats, 26 business class seats, 36 premium economy seats, and 240 economy seats.

“STARLUX offers an industry-leading product with great onboard service and access to a range of bucket list destinations across Asia,” Brett Catlin, vice president of loyalty, alliances and sales at Alaska, said in a press release. “With STARLUX’s arrival in Seattle, we’ll have 13 of our global partners now serving our hometown hub where we have more daily flights and destinations than any other carrier on the West Coast.”

Operating out of Taipei, Starlux flies to over 25 destinations across Asia. As a luxury carrier, the airline offers flights with Taiwanese signature dining options and curated in-cabin aromatherapy.
