Former APC national youth leadership aspirant, Ahmad Abba Dangata, has praised Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki for raising the state’s minimum wage to N70,000.

On Monday, May 29, Governor Obaseki increased the minimum wage for Edo state workers from N40,000 to N70,000.

In an interview with Legit.ng, Dangata commended Governor Obaseki’s action, urging other governors to follow suit. However, he emphasized that the N70,000 minimum wage is still insufficient.

“Governor Godwin Obaseki has done well,” Dangata said. “I urge all other governors to emulate his efforts, and even do better because N200,000 as a minimum wage will not be sufficient for a civil servant in Nigeria’s current situation. To me, this N70,000 is too low (though he did well by announcing the increment).”
