ARSENAL fans are furious with rivals Tottenham after what they perceived as an early lap of honour.

Spurs hosted Burnley in their penultimate home match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and damned Vincent Kompany’s men to relegation with a 2-1 victory.

After the game the North Londoners’ manager Ange Postecoglou along with a few players and their families were filmed giving thanks to the fans and the clip was shared on social media.

Tottenham issued the following caption on Twitter: “Thank you for your incredible support.”

Fuming Arsenal fans claimed Postecoglou’s men broke tradition as the lap of honour is reserved for the last home game of the season, which in Spurs’ case is against Manchester City.

City are top of the Premier League table with a game in hand and two points separating them from Arsenal, who visit Manchester United on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola’s side visit Tottenham on Tuesday before they host West Ham on the final day of the season on May 19.

Some Gooners think their North London foes aren’t taking the crunch Premier League clash with the Citizens seriously and are instead downing tools in order to focus on next season.

One Arsenal fan tweeted: “Tottenham doing their end of season lap of honour despite still having one home game left tells you everything you need to know.

“They’re not even counting Manchester City as a game left.”

Another commented: “Lmaooo is this your last home game of the season??”

A third wrote: “Don’t you have City on Tuesday? Your season is not over?”

This one said: “You’ve got another home game, no?”

And that one wondered: “You have a home game against City next week??”

However, there was no indication that Tottenham were indeed having a lap of honour and they are still fighting for fourth place as well as Champions League qualification with Aston Villa.

Nevertheless, Mikel Arteta’s side will need a gift from their rivals this coming week in their bid to win their first title since the Invincibles’ triumph in 2004.

This comes after Arsenal fans went into total meltdown after seeing Fulham stars flying a kite in their training ground before their game with City that saw Guardiola’s side winning 4-0 at Craven Cottage.

The Gunners host Everton in their final game while Tottenham visit Sheffield United.
