Former Jackass star Bam Margera found himself back to jail earlier this week after being found in violation of the terms of his probation.
Court records show he was taken into custody on Wednesday (September 18th) and sent to Chester County Prison to await a “violations of probation/parole” hearing before Common Pleas Judge Patrick Carmody on Monday.
According to local newspaper Main Line Media News, Margera was arrested by state police for suspicion of driving under the influence and other summary violations on Monday (September 16th) in Needmore, Pennsylvania. This constitutes a violation of Margera’s six-month probation sentence from June, when he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct related to an altercation with his brother.
No charges have been filed as of Friday. “We are in the process of straightening this all out,” Margera’s attorneys, Adam Leasure, Michael T. van der Veen, and William J. Brennan, said in a statement. “Just like every citizen in this country, Mr. Margera is presumed innocent.”
Margera has battled addictions to drugs and alcohol throughout much of his adult life. Last year, his former Jackass co-star Steve-O issued a public plea for Margera to “choose recovery,” telling him, “You’re dying, brother.”
