Barry Keoghan Seemingly Tweeted Out References to Sabrina Carpenter Songs — A Decade Before They Were Written

Sabrina Carpenter has spent 2024 dominating the charts with two huge singles: “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.” And while artists often have significant others who get a sneak peek at music, Carpenter’s boyfriend, actor Barry Keoghan, seems to have taken things to the next level.

Sleuthing fans have uncovered old tweets from Keoghan, both around 10 years old, that bear striking similarities to lyrics from Carpenter’s 2024 hits. “This time last year I told you that I would be an espresso addict,” he says in one — Carpenter’s song “Espresso” was released this April and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, effectively turning plenty of listeners into “espresso addicts” themselves.

Carpenter then followed the hit with “Please Please Please,” her first No. 1 single. “Can someone please please please lend me The Sopranos,” Keoghan tweeted back in 2013, mirroring the chorus of the 2024 track where Carpenter sings, “Please, please, please don’t prove I’m right.”

It’s possible that either Keoghan is a powerful manifester or the two have been connected by an invisible string of fate, but mostly likely, it’s all one big coincidence. Regardless, it’s all fun.

Sabrina Carpenter is gearing up to release her new album, Short N’ Sweet, which will be followed by a tour of the same name (secure tickets here).
