The Jechira Traditional Council has issued a stern warning, threatening to banish or curse any of its members who engage in activities that undermine Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration.

At a thanksgiving mass and reception held in honor of Governor Alia, the Tor Jechira, Chief Clement Ugaden, expressed the council’s unwavering support for the governor and condemned any attempts to destabilize his rule. He emphasized that any person from Jechira who accepts bribes or engages in corrupt practices to hinder Alia’s efforts will face severe consequences.

Senator Barnabas Gemade, the occasion’s chairman, urged so-called stakeholders to refrain from interfering with Governor Alia’s administration unless they have constructive ideas that align with his vision for Benue. He stressed that it is the responsibility of all leaders to support the governor’s success, as his achievements will ultimately benefit the entire community.

Gemade further warned against external forces dictating the governor’s actions, stating that the people of Jechira will not tolerate such interference. He advised Governor Alia to distance himself from any individuals who exhibit disloyalty and promptly inform the council for appropriate action.

Governor Alia expressed his gratitude for the support he received from the Jechira people and the entire Benue. He emphasized his commitment to delivering on his campaign promises and condemned criminal activities such as cultism and kidnapping, which he vowed to eradicate.
