Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has vowed to disrupt the camp of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, following the release of an alleged fake list of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee members for Rivers State.
Fubara, who spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony of an automobile spare parts market in Port Harcourt on Thursday, dismissed the list, which featured loyalists of Wike, as a fabrication by “cheap publicity seekers and agents of crisis.”
“I’m aware that many of you have seen this list circulating on social media and in newspapers,” Fubara said. “I want to assure you that it is not genuine.”
He explained that the PDP had agreed to extend the tenure of Executive Councils in affected states, including Rivers, for three months, but emphasized that this did not authorize the introduction of new names or the bypassing of the governor’s authority.
“The list you saw, including the altered versions, will not be recognized,” Fubara asserted. “We have scheduled a NEC meeting for April 18th to ratify this decision.”
“This fabricated list is the work of desperate individuals who crave media attention,” he continued. “We will continue to make them uneasy and unpredictable in our actions. We will strike them as hard as we did yesterday.”
Fubara urged party members not to be concerned about the fake list, saying, “Rest assured, nothing has changed. We will continue to disrupt their camp and keep them guessing.”
