Vice President Kamala Harris has received a powerful endorsement in her quest for the White House, as Bruce Springsteen has officially offered his support. In a video shared on Instagram, The Boss also spoke about his distaste for Trump, whom he characterized as the “most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime.” Watch the full video, where Springsteen speaks against the backdrop of a New Jersey diner, below.

“Friends, fans, and the press have asked me who I’m supporting in this most important of elections,” Springsteen began. “And with full knowledge that my opinions are no more or less important than those of any of my fellow citizens, here’s my answer: I’m supporting Kamala Harris for President and Tim Waltz for Vice President and opposing Donald Trump and JD Vance.”

“We are shortly coming upon one of the most consequential elections in our nation’s history. Perhaps not since the Civil War has this great country felt as politically, spiritually, and emotionally divided as it does then at this moment. It doesn’t have to be this way,” Springsteen continued. “The common values, the shared stories that make us a great and united nation are waiting to be rediscovered and retold once again. Now that will take time, hard, intelligence, faith and women and men with the national good guiding their hearts.”

From Springsteen’s perspective, “Donald Trump’s disdain for the sanctity of our Constitution and the peaceful transfer of power should disqualify him from the office of president ever again. He doesn’t understand the meaning of this country, its history, or what it means to be deeply American.”

The celebrated artist then shifted gears, explaining the tenets of the Harris-Walz campaign that earned his vote. “Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone, regardless of class, religion, race, your political point of view, or sexual identity.”

Earlier this year, Springsteen crossed the mark into billionaire territory, and he also used a portion of the video to acknowledge Harris’ policies that would benefit people of all economic backgrounds, “Not just those on top like me. That’s the vision of America I’ve been consistently writing about for 55 years now.”

While some stars have been less forthcoming about their projected votes, Springsteen joins a list of folks like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Billie Eilish and FINNEAS, Megan Thee Stallion, Jason Isbell, and Bon Iver, who have all pledged support for Harris and Walz.
