Burial has composed an original score for a new Harmony Korine movie, Baby Invasion. The film will premiere at this year’s Venice Film Festival, which runs from August 28 to September 7. It follows Burial’s foray into film scores for Andrea Arnold’s recent movie Bird.

Baby Invasion uses artificial intelligence and gaming engines to stage a surreal home invasion narrative, in which the intruders’ faces are replaced with those of babies, IndieWire notes. An official synopsis adds, “Tasked with entering mansions of the rich and powerful and leaving nothing behind, players must explore every rabbit hole before time runs out.”

“We’ll create these almost like freakish cartoon filters that these invaders will have, that they’ll wear throughout, but then you could also possibly change them as you go,” Korine remarked, according to IndieWire. Other premieres at this year’s Venice Film Festival include Pavements, Alex Ross Perry’s Pavement movie.

Burial’s last release was the split single “Phoneglow” / “Eyes Go Blank” with Kode9.
