OLIVER GLASNER has revealed that a post-match shower conversation with Michael Olise led to the Frenchman’s stunning brace against Manchester United.

Olise inspired Crystal Palace to a superb 4-0 win over Man Utd at Selhurst Park on Monday night as the Eagles continued their red-hot form.

The 22-year-old netted twice past Andre Onana as his side dominated proceedings in South London.

And Palace boss Glasner reckons the reason Olise was able to score his stunning double is down to some advice he offered the winger while he was showering last weekend.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt manager explained that he had told Olise to switch up his shooting after he was left disappointed with his efforts during a 1-1 draw with Fulham last time out.

When asked why Olise ran towards him in celebration of his second goal, Glasner said: “We spoke after the Fulham game when he was under the shower.

“We spoke because he was a little bit disappointed because he had, I don’t know, three or four shots.

“And the shots were blocked or he hit [them] straight at the keeper.

“I spoke about it and very often he shoots at the far post and I said ‘yeah maybe you should try the near post, maybe the goalkeepers will be surprised’.

“And in this situation he shot at the near post and he scored the goal and so I think it [his celebration with me] was because it started after the shower at Craven Cottage.”

The secret shower chat certainly worked as Olise rifled his second goal into the top corner from the edge of the area and seemed to catch Onana off guard with the effort at the near post.

The rising star has had a sensational season when he has been fit and available and has now scored nine goals and registered four assists in just 17 Premier League appearances this term.

Crystal Palace 4 Man Utd 0: Ten Hag one step closer to axe after ’embarrassing’ total capitulation against Eagles

He joined Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell on the scoresheet as Palace embarrassed Erik ten Hag’s struggling Red Devils.

Man United have now won just one of their last seven Premier League games and things could get even worse as title chasing league leaders Arsenal visit Old Trafford on Sunday.

On the other hand, Crystal Palace are flying under Glasner who has pulled the club away from a relegation battle and put them just five points off the top half of the table.

The Eagles have now won four of their last five Prem clashes including wins over United, Liverpool and Newcastle in that time.
