As Deadpool & Wolverine is shaping up to be this year’s biggest movie, director Shawn Levy may end up directing another big movie for Marvel Studios!
The filmmaker is in talks to helm Marvel’s next Avengers movie, previously titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. According to Deadline, Levy has been given the script written by Michael Waldron to read.
He hasn’t given an answer to whether he will take on the project, and the studio is still meeting with other directors just in case he turns down the job. But apparently it’s his if he wants it.
Levy has got a few big projects coming up including the final season of Stranger Things and he’s also developing a Star Wars film for Lucasfilm. But, if Levy wants to make another Marvel movie, he will make the room to make it happen.
I think Levy would be a great choice to direct the next Avengers movie. A few other filmmakers have been mentioned as well like Sam Raimi, who would also be a great choice. But, it looks like Marvel’s first choice is Levy because they obviously loved what he did with Deadpool & Wolverine.
The report goes on to reveal that there may be more than 60 MCU characters who “could reprise their roles, including everyone from Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth and Benedict Cumberbatch to Tom Hiddleston, Simu Liu and Karen Gillian.”
They add, ‘Many of the characters in this film would have equal footing, making it more of an ensemble feature instead of a handful of characters leading the team.”
There are obviously no story details to share right now, but what do you think about Levy possibly directing the next Avengers movie?
