FANS are convinced Tottenham’s defeat to Manchester City was “fixed” and some have even called for a “points deduction”.

In bizarre and baseless claims, some supporters reckon Spurs deliberately lost 2-0 to help stop their rivals Arsenal winning the title.

Man City’s win moved them two points clear of the Gunners at the top of the table ahead of the final day of the season.

Erling Haaland scored twice to put Pep Guardiola’s side within touching distance of their fourth Premier League crown in a row.

There was a strange atmosphere inside the stadium as some Tottenham supporters were open to losing and sacrificing a spot in next season’s Champions League to ensure Arsenal’s 20-year wait for a title would continue.

And conspiracy theorists believe the mood was reflected on the pitch.

They highlight Son Heung-min seeing a huge chance saved by City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, which would have levelled the game.

And Pedro Porro tripping Jeremy Doku in the box to hand Haaland a chance to wrap up the three points from the spot.

Fans on social media wrote: “How on Earth do you miss this chance? It’s even easier to score than to miss. I’m tempted to believe this game was fixed.”

A raging Arsenal supporter added: “Intentionally fixed. The pen was obvious, Doku wasn’t going anywhere. See him to the line. The miss from Son – straight at the keeper when he had the whole goal to aim at.”

A third said: “It was a fixed game and Spurs should be deducted points.”

A fourth commented: “Tottenham fans start chanting: “Are you watching, Arsenal? The match is fixed just for Manchester City to win it.”

There is no legitimate reason the game was rigged.

However, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou was unhappy with the attitude to the game from “inside and outside”.

After being involved in a furious row with a supporter on the touchline, the Aussie ranted in his press conference: “The last 48 hours have revealed that the foundations are fairly fragile.

“That’s what I feel. The last 48 hours has revealed a fair bit to me.

“But it just means I’ve got to go back to the drawing board with some things.

“It’s outside, inside, everywhere. It’s been an interesting exercise.”

Probed on what he meant by a reporter, Postecoglou snapped back: “It’s my observations, mate. I’m not going to tell you because it’s for me.

“I’m the one that’s got to do it so you can make your own assessment over what’s happpened.

“I understand I have probably misread the situation to what I think is important and in your endeavour to become a winning team. But it’s okay, it’s why I’m here.

“I want to be successful at this football club, it’s why I was brought in.

“So what other people, how they want to feel, and what their priorities are, are of zero interest to me. 

“I know what’s important to build a winning team, that’s what I need to concentrate on.

“It is what it is, mate. I can’t dictate what people do. They are allowed to express themselves in any way they want.

“But yeah, when we’ve got late winners in games it’s because the crowd has helped us.

“I already know what I want to do, it’s just I’ve got to make some adjustments to how I do it.”

Tottenham’s defeat means they are set to play Europa League football next season.

As for City, a win over West Ham on Sunday and they will get their hands on the Premier League trophy.

Arsenal need to beat Everton and hope the Hammers to do them a favour at the Etihad.
