Social media users have reacted strongly to the announcement by former Kogi lawmaker, Dino Melaye, that the salaries of traditional rulers in Kogi state have been drastically reduced.

In a post shared on Wednesday via his official social media account, Melaye stated that the monthly salaries of first-class traditional rulers had been slashed to N199,000. Second-class rulers would now receive N149,000, third-class rulers N99,000, and ungraded rulers a mere N30,000.
