SaharaReporters has reported that a 100-level computer science student at Veritas University Abuja, identified as Joshua Èjuojo Daniel-Ejigbo, died while exercising at the campus gymnasium on Tuesday.

According to the report, Daniel-Ejigbo began foaming at the mouth and collapsed around 9 pm. A university spokesperson confirmed the incident, but a human rights lawyer representing the family, Mr. Deji Adeyanju, expressed suspicions of foul play and negligence.

On Thursday, a family source revealed that they discovered five stab wounds on the back and ribs of the deceased student’s body. The source claimed that the wounds were not visible initially and that the body was handed over to the family without an apparent cause of death.

The family alleges that the university was negligent in handling the incident and failed to provide adequate information about the circumstances surrounding Daniel-Ejigbo’s death.

Efforts to contact the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command for comment on whether the student’s death is under investigation have been unsuccessful. CONTINUE READING
