Johnson, a confirmed hermaphrodite, underwent a sex change operation in the United States in 2004 with the support of the then Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. However, he requires two additional phases of surgery to become a complete man and fulfill his dream of fathering children.

In a letter dated April 4, 2023, Johnson explained that he has approached the NFF for assistance in covering the costs of these final procedures, estimated at N69.7 million ($160,000). He expressed his belief in the NFF President Ibrahim Gusau’s compassion and hopes for their support.

Johnson’s situation is unique, as hermaphroditism is a rare condition in humans. Despite his initial success as a female footballer, his medical condition led to his dismissal from the Super Falcons.

After his sex change surgery in 2004, Johnson attempted to continue his football career but faced discrimination and humiliation. He now seeks the NFF’s assistance in completing his transformation and achieving his dream of becoming a father.
