A Frontier Airlines flight out of Houston was suddenly cancelled after the pilot was placed under arrest on suspicion of assault and family violence.
A pilot wanted by police in Dallas was found in Houston, but not as a passenger of a Frontier Airlines flight.
NBC Dallas-Fort Worth reports an arrest was made at George Bush Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH) of the aircraft’s pilot after a warrant was issued.
Suspect Taken into Custody After Tip About Piloting an Aircraft
According to police, they received a tip that 45-year-old Seymor Walker was the pilot of a Frontier flight at one of the gates. He was wanted after Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) Department of Public Safety police officers filed for a warrant against him on accusations of assault and family violence.
Police at IAH ended up at the gate before the departure of Frontier Flight 3195, which was scheduled for service to Dallas. Police say that he was taken into custody without incident. According to NBC Dallas-Forth Worth, the pilot has already bailed out of jail, but it is unclear if he has an attorney. Walker has not made a public statement on the arrest or accusations.
In a statement to the media, Frontier said that a crew member was “taken into custody” before one of their flights, but declined to state who it was or if they are still employed by the airline. Unfortunately for flyers, because another pilot could not be found for the flight to depart on time, it was cancelled. There’s no word about how many flyers were affected by the cancellation.
