Professional wrestler Maxwell Jacob Friedman (The Iron Claw), aka MJF, of AEW has joined the cast of Netflix‘s Happy Gilmore 2.

Friedman will join Adam Sandler as Happy, Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit, and Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin.

Sandler has also teased that Travis Kelce is on board for a cameo along with Bad Bunny, with production now underway.

Kyle Newacheck (Murder Mystery) is directing the sequel from a script by Sandler and Tim Herlihy. There are no details about the plot of the movie yet.

Sandler previously talked about the film, saying: “We’re going to do Happy Gilmore, thank you. This is happening. We’re getting ready to shoot it in New Jersey. We start in a couple weeks.

“It’s good. We worked hard on the script. We didn’t want to let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time. We’re really excited about it. We wrote our asses off. So many of the golfers are being nice and will be a part of it.”

There’s no word on who Friedman will play in the sequel.
