On April 27, 2024, a Nigerian man named Onipede Dare stabbed his wife, Kumapayi Arinola, to death in their residence at Christ Avenue, Ado-Ekiti.

Sunday Abutu, spokesperson for the state police, confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation is ongoing. “We received a report from the children that the incident occurred on Saturday. The father, Onipede Dare, and mother, Kumapayi Arinola, were involved in a physical altercation,” Abutu said.

According to sources, the couple had sent their older child on an errand prior to the altercation. During the dispute, both parties sustained stab wounds from sharp objects. Arinola succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Neighbors attempted to intervene but found the couple’s apartment door locked. They gained entry by removing parts of the building’s ceiling and discovered the couple with severe injuries. Arinola was rushed to the hospital but died before receiving medical attention. CONTINUE READING
