Emmanuel Victor, a 500-level Optometry student at Abia State University (ABSU), has confessed to murdering final year student Emmanuel Uche and pleaded for a second chance.

Victor was arrested along with 110 other suspects at the Abia State Police Headquarters in Umuahia. According to police spokesperson ASP Maureen Chinaka, detectives apprehended Victor based on credible intelligence.

During interrogation, Victor admitted to the crime. He claimed that Uche was a member of a rival cult group that had come to retrieve a phone from his lodge.

“I killed him because he was a member of another cult group that came to pick up a phone from us,” Victor said. “I regret the action. It was my first time killing someone.”

Victor further stated that the incident stemmed from a previous confrontation where his cult group took a phone from a member of Uche’s group.

As he pleaded for a second chance, Victor acknowledged the severity of his actions. “I know what I did was wrong. I deserve punishment, but I hope I can be given a chance to make things right,” he said. CONTINUE READING
