Ipswich Town have officially clinched their Premier League promotion after a 22-year absence, with a 2-0 win over Huddersfield on Saturday.

The game was their last for the season in the Skybet Championship.

The Tractor Boys sealed the promotion with a standout performance, fueled by goals from Wes Burns and Omari Hutchinson.

Ipswich’s return to the Premier League marks a significant milestone for the club, who last competed in the top-flight during the 2001/02 season.

Since the takeover of former Manchester United coach Kieran McKenna, Ipswich Town have experienced a remarkable turnaround, securing back-to-back promotions.

With the help of McKenna, who arrived at the club in December 2021, Ipswich were able to move from 12th place in League One (third tier English league), to a second-place finish last season.

Now, McKenna has orchestrated another promotion, guiding Ipswich Town from the Championship to the Premier League in successive seasons.

The achievement is even more impressive considering that nine of the starting XI in the final match were playing in a division below just last season.
