Juniper Travel Technology has acquired flight booking and management technology specialist Lleego for an undisclosed amount.

A blog post on the acquisition said Lleego joins Juniper Group travel vertical adding that the deal would help Lleego take advantage of “new market opportunities.” It added, “The synergy will strengthen both companies and allow Lleego to continue to innovate and grow, consolidating its position as a benchmark in the travel technology sector.”

The acquisition will also enable Juniper to expand its own presence with the creation of a new division, Juniper Flights by Lleego, which merges the Juniper Booking engine and Lleego’s technology.

Juan Mateos, CEO of Juniper Travel, described the new division as a “great step” for the company.

Jaime Sastre, CEO of Juniper Group, said, “The addition of Lleego to the Juniper Travel Technology portfolio is a significant milestone for Juniper Group, strengthening our position in the global travel market. We are committed to continue investing and ensuring that our business units continue to invest in companies that, like Lleego, demonstrate clear growth potential and alignment with our values of excellence and quality.”

Aurelio Perez, co-founder and CEO of Lleego, said, “Joining forces with a brand as consolidated in the market as Juniper is an opportunity to accelerate our growth and expansion.”

Juniper Travel Technology is an operating group of Vela Software and Constellation Software. Last year, Juniper Group acquired India-based Vervotech while Vela announced the acquisition of Germany-based Peakwork.
