Martha Skye Murphy has shared a new song, “Need,” featuring a rare guest appearance from the guitarist Roy Montgomery. Below, check out Billy Howard Price’s video, in which Murphy plays various roles embodying “the most feral parts of [her] being,” as she put it in a press release.

Murphy co-produced “Need” with Ethan P. Flynn. It was mixed by Marta Salogni and mastered by Heba Kadry. The single precedes a forthcoming project from Murphy, according to the press release; the London-based singer-songwriter has not yet released her formal debut LP, though she released a collaborative album, Distance on Ground, with Maxwell Sterling, in 2022.
