MICAH RICHARDS was left fuming after seeing his ex-Manchester City teammate David Silva appear at the Etihad today without telling him.
Richards and Silva shared the field for Manchester City for half a decade until Richards left for Aston Villa in 2015.
Before the kickoff of Manchester City’s game against Wolves, Silva, accompanied by his family, was greeted by fans as they came onto the pitch.
TV pundit Richards who watched on back in the Sky Sports studio expressed his surprise and disappointment at not being informed of Silva’s visit to Manchester.
Commenting on Silva’s unannounced appearance, Richards said: “Everything about him is extraordinary but he didn’t give me a text. So I’ll be texting him later on.”
The 2010 World Cup champion joined Manchester City from Valencia in the summer of 2010 and went on to play in over 400 games for the club.
During his career as a midfielder and striker Silva secured four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and five EFL Cups.
He earned a spot in the PFA Team of the Year on three occasions and holds the record as the youngest player to achieve 200 Premier League victories.
After a decade with Manchester City, Silva returned to Spain’s La Liga, joining Real Sociedad and celebrated his second Copa del Rey victory in 2020.
Tragically Silva’s illustrious career was cut short in July 2023 due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained during Real Sociedad’s pre-season training.
