Nwaogu Udochukwu Victor, a well-known Nigerian actor also known as Nkubi, has shared the story of his memorable encounter with the renowned folk singer Gentleman Mike Ejeagha.

Mike Ejeagha’s decades-old song Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo has recently gained online popularity after skit maker Brian Jotter featured it in one of his dance videos, sparking the interest of many.

During the recent buzz surrounding Mike Ejeagha, actor Nkubi reflected on his visit to the veteran in his hometown of Abakpa Nike, located in Enugu state, for his university final-year project.

The small-size movie celebrity remarked that Ejeagha is honored in Igbo community for his music genre, “Folklore,” as it deeply reflects Igbo culture.

He described the lengthy discussion he had with Mike Ejeagha about his final-year project, which focused on Folklore. Nkubi explained that he selected the Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo hitmaker as his case study because he felt it was the ideal choice for his project.

Sharing an old picture of him and the living legend, he wrote: “Mike Ejeagha is very popular among the Igbos going by his Genre of Music “Folklore. This is a picture of me and Mike Ejeagha. He Appears younger here. This was in 2008 when I travelled down to Abakpa Nike in Enugu state for my Final year Project. My Project topic was on Folklore and he appears as the perfect choice and case study for it. My memory with him was fun in my 2 hours chat with him.”
