The video, reported by TheNGblog, surprised many Nigerians who recalled Obasanjo’s public support for Labour Party candidate Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election. Tinubu had previously sought Obasanjo’s endorsement but was rejected.

Following the video’s release, numerous Nigerians took to social media platforms to question Obasanjo’s motives for seemingly shifting his allegiance to President Tinubu’s administration.
