The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has raised concerns over the allocation of ₦5 billion by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the renovation and purchase of accessories for daycare centers.

The opposition party alleges that the substantial budget is a ploy to amass funds for the upcoming governorship election. Kennedy Peretei, the PDP’s Publicity Secretary, expressed skepticism about the project’s legitimacy.

“How is it possible that such glaring discrepancies have escaped detection in a budget that underwent multiple layers of scrutiny before being presented to the Ondo State House of Assembly?” Peretei questioned.

He suggested that the budget errors were intentional, aiming to conceal a fraudulent scheme to divert funds for political purposes.

“The Aiyedatiwa administration intended to defraud the state through the daycare renovation project,” Peretei stated. “This plan was fortunately thwarted by the vigilance of the media.”

The PDP vowed to hold accountable those responsible for the alleged irregularities.

“Our party will not tolerate the APC and Aiyedatiwa squandering our limited resources for the political ambitions of a few,” Peretei declared. CONTINUE READING
